Mirror Play

Are you looking to add a unique element to your classroom? Want to get your students exploring? This is an open-ended activity for the students to explore, build and create using a variety of materials. This kit includes a mirror surrounded by coloured foam, coloured ice cubes, mini cups, stir sticks and coloured flowers.
$35.00

I set out this mirror play activity for my junior and senior kindergartens during free play. I left it as an open-ended activity where they could join the table to play and explore. To allow more students to play I put out four mirrors so that each student had their own space to create.

It was interesting to see what the students choose to do with the materials. Some students choose to build structures, make "drinks", make a picture, patterns, etc. Endless amount of fun exploring the materials and reflections with the mirror and manipulatives.

Extensions to add to your kit:
-coloured bowls
-coloured pom poms
-translucent shapes
-magna-tiles
-3D coloured blocks
-coloured jewels
-large coloured cups

Are your students curious about rainbows? Are they learning colours and patterns?
This is a perfect open-ended activity where the students can explore the colours of the rainbow and make their own creations using a variety of coloured materials. This kit
comes with six coloured felt sheets, a bag of coloured pom poms, mini sticks, cubes,
popsicle sticks and a beautiful hand-crafted wooden rainbow.

With my students in Junior and Senior Kindergarten I read the story "How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow" For a table top activity, I added my "rainbow exploration kit" along with the story so that the students could explore and create.
