Stephanie's Ponytail

Stephanie’s Ponytail

Are you looking to keep your students engaged at carpet time? Want to get your students laughing and interested in learning an important lesson through a story?

I would highly recommend this book for educators as a fun and creative way to get students interested during story time!

This kit comes with a paperback copy of Stephanie’s Ponytail by Robert Munsch, a hair elastic and a bald cap for dramatic props to use while reading and re-telling the story.
$25.00

Extensions to add to your kit:
-Variety of different sized hair elastics for children to create more then one ponytail when re-telling the story or creating their own version of the story.
-Paper with an outline of an empty face so that the children can draw “Stephanie and her Ponytail” from the story.
-Circle cork boards, mirrors and loose part materials such as; yarn, googly eyes, buttons, etc so that the children can create their own reflections.

I have read this story many times over the course of being an Early Childhood Educator and it is by far one of my favorite books because the children enjoy it so much! Here are some fun pictures reading Stephanie's Ponytail. I wish you could see the students faces :)

Always introduce a story with the title, author and illustrator before reading. Pose questions for the students such as: "What do you think this story is about?" "What do you notice on the front page?"
Most books also have a "Magic Page" which means, the picture on the cover of the book is also inside the book. If your book does, make sure you tell the students to look for the magic page!

Ponytail coming "right out the back"

Ponytail coming "out the side just above my ear"

Ponytail coming "out the top of my head"

And for the finale, the bald cap! It looks a little ridiculous but let me tell you the children LOVE this part!
